HELLO!
Thanks for visiting my website. I'm Kate - photographer, mum and London escapee. Me, my partner Ben and our two children moved to the wonderful Peak District two years ago and we love it. But even though I'm surrounded by some of the most beautiful landscapes you'll ever see, it's people that inspire me to get the camera out. I've always loved taking portraits – there's something magical about being able to capture the smiles, the stories, the silent moments and the silliness that makes us us.
My favourite photos of my own family are the ones that show us as we really are. My kids will (usually) accept a bribe to sit still and smile for the camera, but it's the pictures of them laughing hysterically or having a strop, chasing each other round the garden or quietly having a think by themselves, being cuddly with mummy and daddy or asserting their independence that are the ones I will treasure forever.
These are also the photos I like to take. The joy, the fun, the noise, the frustrations, the friendships, the love and the madness of a family caught in a moment of time.

YOUR FAMILY SHOOT
What to expect
I love shooting in the great outdoors, but can also get beautiful shots in your garden or in your home. It's important to choose a location where your family are at their most comfortable, and we can discuss all these options before the shoot.
The photoshoot itself is great fun. I make a special effort to get to know your children, what they want to do (and what they don't!), then will start snapping away. I'm particularly skilled in making a fool of myself(!) to get some big genuine laughs, but can also blend into the background to capture quieter, more intimate moments. We can play games, climb, jump, go for a walk or simply sit quietly and read or play with toys. Above all, the experience should be a great opportunity for you to spend time together and have some fun.
A shoot will typically take around two hours.
Once the shoot is over, I'll lock myself in my editing cave and get to work processing and perfecting your images. I'll choose a wide selection of the best images to present to you in an online gallery, where you can see your photographs and place your orders. You can order individual images or choose one of the package options on offer, which offer great value for money. There are options to suit everyone!
